“You are my inspiration when it comes to the arts.” ~Karen Roebuck
“Once again, congratulations to all! I can think of no theatrical effort at Cornell that has made me prouder to be a member of this department. I think all of you pulled this off with great passion, skill, and heart. Whatever this project has meant to each of you individually and as a group, know that you have given a truly significant gift to this community that we share.” ~Mark Hunter
“Byrd is a multi-talented artist. I’ve worked with her in various capacities. She served as my assistant in orchestrating the production of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh with a cast of 109. I utilized her acting abilities when I cast her as the Tin Woman in THE WIZ. Her organizational skills were invaluable as we produced and directed programs for local community organizations/agencies here in the Quad Cities. Byrd's directed the play “For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Isn’t Enuf,” which was seen by many throughout Iowa and received great reviews." ~Karen Roebuck
"Byrd is an artist whose talents can take her anywhere and I wish she were still here in our community so we could collaborate more in the future . Anyone who had the opportunity to capitalize on her skill set will quickly see how beneficial she will be in creating an excellent project.” ~Karen Roebuck
